Memory Lane: a very BEYONCE evening aka MTV EMAs 2009

Oh, the memories!
November 5th, 2009, I've had the once-in-a-lifetime-opportunity to go to the MTV Europe Music Awards thanks to Katy Perry and her amazing crew. If you ever wanted to know how this TV event works... this is how the shit went down.
When registered, you get a simple sheet of paper which you (and only you) have to pick up two days before the show. On the actual day of the show you get your REAL ticket & wristband after showing the security people your sheet of paper & your ID.
The arena seemed kinda small compared to how big it usually looks on TV. We stood 2nd row in front of the VIP area/award table thingy (we= Mel, Pat & me. And probably some screaming Tokio Hotel fans). A few minutes before the show started, all the american musicians entered the VIP area. The Jonas Brothers looked completely bored over the entire evening. But this Desperate Housewives gardener looked pretty hot.. although he has man-boobs. ANYWAYS!
You could see that this whole event was all for the people in front of TV. Cameramen everywhere and in a hurry, screens where the rich and famous could read their "scripts" while on stage. They get directions when to walk up which way and there are always MTV emloyees that tell them what to do. The Hoff almost screwed it..
Katy did perfectly well! Even though she needed her little script-screen, too ;) While getting ready for showing her hosting skills again, she saw me and sing-language-asked if she was doing OK - I showed her two thumbs up.
It was fun to be there and to experience everything from "the other side of the Tivo".
